Guilt-free bookscrolling.

anquar turns your EPUBs into a vertical feed: one screen of a book per swipe, on your phone, offline.

A book, one screen at a time.

This is the opening of Moby-Dick, cut into cards by the same engine the app uses. Swipe the page, tap it for the rail, and slide the lamp to dim it.

Cut to fit your screen

Whole paragraphs where they fit. A long one breaks at a sentence, and a heading stays with what it opens.

It counts once you've read it

A card becomes an anquar after it has been on screen long enough to read at 600 words a minute. Flicking past doesn't count.

Your place, to the word

Change the type size or the margins and the book is laid out again, with you back on the words you were reading.

Opens where you left off

Long books open at your chapter, not at page one. The next chapters load as you get near them.

Close the core, every day.

The mark is your daily meter. Each line is a quarter of your goal, filled from the core outward, so a full mark means today is done.

5

anquars keep your streak. A busy day still counts if you read a few minutes.

7

reading days bank a rest day, two at most. A missed day spends one instead of your streak.

4 a.m.

is when the day ends, so a chapter after midnight still counts for tonight.

Everything a reader reaches for.

Ask about a word

Select a passage and tap the words you mean. The answer comes in over the page: a few words of meaning first, then the detail.

Share a passage

It goes out as an image framed by the book's own cover, with the words as text for anyone who'd rather copy them.

Save the good bits

Save a whole card, or only the lines you selected. They wait for you in Saved.

Bring your books

Share an EPUB to anquar from any Android app, or pick one from your files. DRM-free books only.

Your books never leave your phone.

No account, no server

Books, places, saves and streaks live in your browser's storage on this phone. There is nothing to sign up for, and no cookies.

Reads offline

Once it's on your home screen, anquar opens and reads with no connection at all. A flight is a fine place for a chapter.

One request, on your tap

Explain is the only thing that sends your words anywhere, and only when you ask. It goes to Gemini with your own key. Beyond that, Cloudflare counts page visits, with no cookies and nothing from your books.

Put it where your thumb already goes.
